DeWalt DCS356 18V XR Multi-Tool (3 Speed) 1 x 5.0Ah

I was alway sceptical changing from a corded multitool to cordless. Just because of power. But after recently upgrading dewalt tools and batteries I picked this up with the intention of using when it was smaller jobs or when power could be an issue. The corded multitool has been stored away now. This is excellent and the 3 speed is perfect for when you’re using longer multitool blades that might try and wander when it’s going too fast. I use this tool for cutting under door frames and base blocks whilst doing flooring.

So far so good, a lot of bang for the money. Easy to use especially blade change.

Been meaning to get one of these for a while, it did not disappoint turning a tricky job into a relatively straight forward one.

This is a tool that maybe you’ll use once in a few months. But you’ll be very happy to have it in that moment as there are jobs when it’s irreplaceable!

Excellent battery life and very durable. All jobs are no issue for this. Comes in a nice sturdy box also.

Bought this as a spare because it is battery compatible with the majority of my tools. My main multi-cutter is a cordless Fein however.
I think the variable speed on these machines is essential for cutting accuracy and can’t recommend the single speed version of this tool. Generally the DeWALT does the job. I find the dust collection system gets in the way so much it is pretty useless. Also the blade seems to be on a longer stalk and a bit far from the handle for accuracy.
So , ok for the occasional quick cut. If you are a regular user, and can afford a bit more,
I would recommend a Fein machine which is much better for fine detail work.

Bought for a specific job (which it did well). Have used it on other jobs and has done the job. But like some other reviewers there are short comings, Dewalt do not label the cutting blades you get in the box so you have to workout what blade to use. The main problem is wood with nails and wood without nails blades they look the same. After reviewing the Dewalt home web site I worked out which blade to use to cut wood with screws in it. The blade did the job but the quality of the blade has come into question it is now in the bin (it cut 3 standard size 4 wood screws). So a good multi tool but some items may require 3rd party replacements.

Excellent bundle & tool is great, but had to go back (twice) to fix faulty lock off switch.

Excellent multi-tool. Very powerful and efficient.
Decided to upgrade my old tool as was pretty old. Difference in performance is very measurable.
Done a few jobs with it and easy to change tools, grip is excellent and so far haven't needed to charge the battery. A very worthwhile purchase which I will be looking forward to use when I get back to more DIY.

Decided to treat myself to this Dewalt multi tool after my well used one broke down in the middle of a house diy project. When I saw this “packaged deal” in my local Toolstation store (1left) with all the extras for an unbelievable price, I ordered it through my account/app, within 10 minutes I got a notification saying it was ready to collect.
The tool is tough, has already been used for different things without a hitch. Battery life is great, the extra interchangeable blades and attachments have been a Godsend.
Overall, a fab piece of kit, comfortable to use and I’d definitely buy DeWALT from Toolstation again.

The tool works nicely. It is easy to hold and to swap tools. The sanding attachment also worked (too) well. I particularly like the open mesh sanding pads which do not clog anything like as fast as normal abrasive paper. However because of this I got a little overenthusiastic and applied too much pressure. The pads then get hot and the hook and loop on the platen melts. While deWalt make platens as a spare I was unable to find any at a sensible price - all I could find was an entire sander assembly so I now use a SMART Multi Cutter Sanding Sheet Set with the tool.

It's great, It's deWalt, little more heavy than makita, but cuts through everything. 5ah battery last long

My no-name corded unit broke, so was looking to replace. I'd decided to get either the DCS356 or DCS355, and this deal made the choice for me.

I normally only buy bare units, but again, this deal gave me pretty much a free battery!

Using this unit has been a dream, I used it to sand/key the windows prior to painting, and being cordless meant being up a ladder was easer.

The vibrations I was used to on my old unit were greatly decreased, I can see that I'll be using this a lot more.

I wish I’d bought one years ago. Absolutely perfect for my numerous house renovation projects. With so many attachments it’s my go to tool for interior and exterior jobs. Perfect speed control, easy and balanced so well I can use it up at any height. Saved me so much time.

Great multi tool. Superior to other like tools I have. Been using the sanding discs on an oak structure. Very good results. For me it's a quality product at a reasonable price.
