As per numerous reviews, just packed in after a few drills. Clutch kept slipping then just burnt out. Wouldn’t buy again.
Surprisingly more powerful than i had expected, ive just cored through some pretty tough brickwork with very little effort.
Worst tool Ive ever had from dewalt. Chuck doesn't stay tight and keeps rattling loose and the clutch is severe, not what you want using a core drill. Spend a bit more and but a better one.
Had to buy in an emergency when my 9month old machine from another manufacturer packed in. This was cheaper and less watts… but oh my goodness, a superior machine in every way! Substantially lighter, still sufficiently powerful, with a sensible clutch that is less prone to stopping the machine! Delighted with it! Returned the other heap of junk which came from a manufacturer who prides themselves on core drilling machines but sell dinosaurs, for a refund! I won’t look back! De Walt have got their act together in recent years! Hope it lasts! Thank you Toolstation for having it on the shelf when I needed it!
It may have been a one off but the drill was awful straight out of the box. Tried to use it for core drilling (as it’s design intended) but kept stalling with the automatic clutch kicking in before it had even started drilling the hole. Ended up wasting 3 hours of my day collecting, taking it to site playing with different settings to try and get it to work and then having to drill it back for a refund.
Got three of them not working nun bought in last 12 month all from toolstation
Powerful drill with clutch for diamond hole cutting
I bought this item as my Marcrist was out of operation. Working with the tool coring out a 110mm hole through masonary wall, the drill bit got a quarter the way through its core and was kicking back and stalling quite a bit, not like the marcrist. Advice - be prepared to core small bits and then hack off what’s cored.
Looking back, I would have bought another Marcrist
Awful drill. Had 2, both burnt out after limited use and after years of using makita core drill.
Thought the first one was a fluke to burn out but have seen these de walt drills returned a number of times from other customers i would never recommend them. Must be a flaw in these core drills that de walt are not owning up to
Typical dewalt build quality and usability
Wanted a powerful drill without the constraints of an SDS , this DeWalt was just the ticket. Handled 60 mm core drill no problem.
Mutton dressed as lamb! Burnt out on first 65mm core of concrete and didn't even get half the job done. Ended up using my Festool SDS Bat drill to compete the job. Its also clutchless so if your not careful could do you an injury. Have now purchased a Bosch which i'm yet to use but reviews suggest its right for the job.
Great for drilling engineering brick and concrete.
The drill is cheap for a core drill but does the job. I use it mostly for 110mm core drill. Block walls are absolutely fine, brick can take ages but that would be the case even with more expensive gear. Feels almost too light to be any good but it is powetfull enough. The machine switches off when the drill gets stuck which should prolong life of the gearbox. I used it about 10 times in the last six months and still seems to work as new.
Utterly useless for large core hole, clutch engaged constantly so I returned it
Expensive but you get what you pay for
