Easy to use, keeps decking off the bearers, and no screws visible decking replaced after 20 years mainly bearers rotted
Not a Screw or Nail in Sight, Baffle your Friends when they see your Decking Installed with No Nails or Screws in Sight.
Great product for making sure spacing correct easy to use.
Not fit for purpose, bought 800 of these but after using about 50 found them too flimsy, bending, and left the decking boards creaking, decided to take them out and use decking screws instead. Definitely not recommended.
Not fit for purpose, too flimsy, threw them in the recycling bin
Excellent clip that works very well. Easy to knock in.
After looking at previous reviews I was dubious about buying these clips. However after a little trial and error they work fine as long as you drill a small guide hole. This stops the clips bending and the wood splitting. My deck board is hardwood.
In principle, a good idea but it didn't work properly.
- The tab is easily bend when knocking it into the deck.
- A slight bend will change the height of the deck.
It so was time consuming to get it squared and leveled that I ended up giving up and screwed the rest of the boards to the joists.
I used these decking clips to put a deck down almost twenty years ago and they lasted until the deck boards required replacing. I’ve bought them and used them again. No ugly screw holes and a perfect finish.
I would recommend these clips to anyone laying decking. The clips hold the pieces of wood evenly spaced and stops any movement.
The spacing allows water to escape therefore extending the life of your decking.
Metal is just too thin and allows the deck boards to move and bend once fitted. Plus very difficult to fit board if you try to use more than 3 clips per board, which was an issue as I was using 4.8m boards. Toolstation were great, but the clips are just not up to the job.
Ideal for the job but some tend to buckle and don’t go into the wood square , maybe if the metal was thicker??
Great alternative to screwing the deck to joists, a little tricky to start off with but once you get started they are easy but slower than just using screws. Trick is to get the deckboard quite tight to the joist then tap in, no clips failed bjt one or two had to be straightened but this was out of a full pack so no complaints
Easy to use, if you can use a hammer these do not bend like other reviews state. Tidy seemless finish
It has always been a problem to secure decking with out drilling a hole in the surface, until I spotted these. Hammered in to the side of the planks and screwed to the joists with a spacer built in for the next plank. To help the joists last I fix 4 inch dpc to the top of the joist. I rate them 7 out of 10 as they did rust after 5 years on one job.
Love the look of no screws. Best option to achieve it.
not as good as expected clips are made of soft steel which allows the boards to lift , and clatter when walking on them , i ended up screwing them down, also when hit with hammer as per instructions they bend ,
They are just too soft to be hammered into the timber and I was using softwood, there is no way they will work on hardwood
