Zirconium is hard wearing material that is favoured for its extreme heat and corrosion resistance, making it a perfect material for use in abrasives. The material allows for rapid and large scale grinding of tougher materials such as steel where higher levels of surface heat can be present, as the thermal properties of zirconium reduces the likelihood of discolouring. An incredibly strong and durable flap disc, the Clarke Zirconium Flap Disc is ideal for heavy sanding and grinding of steel, welds and other general metalwork where stock removal is a priority. Even with a heavy workload, the flap disc will provide long service with a consistent performance throughout the products life, ensuring overall expense of consumables is reduced. When preparing a surface, users should progress from coarse grits (P24) through to finer grits (P120) to achieve a perfect surface, ready for finishing.
