As I have limited mobility, the use of step ladders to reach branches is out of the question. This extendable lopper looked as if it would answer the difficulties I have in reaching upper parts of my trees. I'm pleased to relate that this piece of equipment more than fulfilled expectations. The lopper proved to be capable of cutting through "twigs" that were 1cm in dameter and the saw cut effortlessly through sizeable branches. I liked the design of the saw in that it cut on the "pull", rather than the "push". The weight of the saw, attached to the lopper, was sufficient to allow the saw to cut - I used very little effort. It took a couple of minutes to get the knack of using the saw, but once I had mastered it, the cutting of branches went like a 'hot knife through butter' - well, nearly so.
Tree loppers for those awkward branches you can’t easily reach, great addition to the garden tools
Being carfull when using. As the blade is sharp to touch.
Great set of loppers, super durable and an efficient cutting blade. Shame the plastic bolt which secures the blade head slips off when you brush it past a branch so had to secure with a fixed metal bolt
The Lopper is well made and the blades cut branches like a knife through butter. The unit was easy to use even at height and gave good access to the higher part of the garden tree. Well worth the price and it has paid for itself after the first use.
Fantastic tool, amazing. Sharp and saw blade works well at full extension even off a step ladder, dont rush the cut though take your time. Made about 25 cuts and every one came down without ripping or snatching the branch that was left. Made a very tidy job, excellent value
Really impressed with how sharp the blades were. Easy to extend, if a little top heavy when fully so, but only to be expected. We'll worth the money.
It looks lovely in the packaging. Will see if it’s any good when I use it.
This tree looper is very solid and much better made than my 15 years old, also surprisingly even lighter. The extensions logs nicely in position with a click. The drawback I noticed, is the clump which logs the cutter head, it should be much stronger.
Great piece of kit - apart from lopper blade constantly jamming in the plastic pulley when you pull the rope with any force.
Saw and lopper are sharp and very helpful, handle is strong enough but quite heavy, the main issue is the pully module easily loosen from the handle.
Excellent bit of kit, well made and great value, will make apple tree pruning a lot easier.
This is a great bit of kit - I don’t know why I didn’t buy one earlier! Well made and great value, the best feature is an external cord so that if it becomes worn, it can be easily replaced. Essential equipment if you have trees and bushes with high branches that need trimming.
Well worth investing in this tool. Cuts tall branches as it says it will.
Tried this today and works really well. Cut 2 inch branches with ease and seems to be well made. Was thinking about spending more but glad I didn’t
Excellent piece of kit does exactly what it’s made for and I managed to prune all of my Apple tree very well👌
It is at a cost so don't expect top quality .it did the job ...
Good affordable price and easy to maintain. I had a Greenline lopper for about the same price, it worked well until the pull cord snapped. this relies on a pull tape which is internal and impossible to disassemble as the parts are factory crimped. The Bulldogs pull cord is external and can be readily replaced if required. The price also clinched the deal for me. HAPPY CUTOMER.
The good news. Lightweight and easy use. Good reach. Lopper and saw extremely sharp and very efficient. The not so good. Not very robust. Used it three times and the locking mechanism irrevocably failed. Had to tape it up. Same with the head that fell off as pulled. This could have had serious consequences as it fell from full vertical height with the saw blade intact. Had I not stood well back ..... This review may not have been written. Steel tube pole flexes so you know when you are using it at its limits. I prefer a more rigid pole but for the money it's fine. Oil the blade after use if you don't want it to rust overnight. It needs a plastic cover to protect the user and others.
Great Service - Bulldog Extender really great value
