I had used an Alligator previously, borrowed from a friend. I was so impressed that I had to own one myself. Very competitively priced at Tool Station, easy to order and collect from my local store.
The Alligator’s versatility and safety is a huge selling point. Well made, solid tool that cuts through 100mm branches with ease. A very welcome and valuable addition to my garden tool collection.
I love these they make tree work easy and safe. My first pair were worked really hard and lasted and lasted they are in for repair due to damage to the cord but the loppers still are going strong. Only slight issue is adding the chain saw oil is a pain as the bottle provides isn't flexible enough so I use a pipette or a 1ml syringe should also work. Anyone who has any issues with these it's probably here that they arise.
Love it ! Easy to use - just make sure you clean out the shavings each time to prevent a build up and blockage. An excellent power tool - quick and efficient.
Good piece of kit, safe and easy to use, low maintenance. Makes an excellent companion to a chainsaw, easier to use it comes to chopping up the tops of branches.
If you’re working at height I’d opt for the battery powered version.

Excellent tool that works really well on very thick branches. Used to cut down mature pyracantha hedges and it made light work of them. The oiling port is reallt fiddly though and I ended up directly oiling the chain.
The nature if the jaws keep you safe compared to a traditional chainsaw. This is great for cutting logs at ground level or through a built up space
Really pleased I bought this as it has allowed me (female 60s) to coppice 20 stands of long established hazels myself . It was so much quicker than my pruning saw for the branches that were too big for loppers. Given its construction it’s also much safer than a small chainsaw.

2nd hand item, staff unaware it had previously been returned after someone had used it.
It was marked and box had wood chips within.
Returned it and got a refund and £10 for my wasted time.
However the £10 never made it into my PayPal account.
Very easy to use and simple instructions. I wish it had come with the chainsaw oil as I had to go out and find that before I used it, Struggled with the little plastic bottle which applies the oil but got there in the end, (needs to be used in the same way as you would with wood glue bottle). Hoping his will last me for some time.

POWEFUL, USEFIUL TOOL FOR CUTTING CHUMPPED BRACHES. Only slight problem with the oil bottle provided , leaking everywhere-- beware==
Looks like a great product and didn’t seem too heavy when reading the description, but it’s a different matter when holding it out in front. I’m retired so not as strong as I used to be. A young person would be fine with it I’m sure. I returned it, sadly.
