Black & Decker 550W 30cm Electric Strimmer 230V

My lawn is a disaster, but this makes a half decent job of edging it, so once done it looks slightly less rubbish.

Handy Gardeners tool which is easily assembled and straightforward to use. Should last few years and cuts ahead as my last one served well for 10+ years

Weather has prevented me from actually using my new strimmer yet but it was easy to assemble. I am not too sure if the edging wheel will be more of a nuisance than a help to me but if it gets in my way I will take it off.
The wheel is probably a good tool for those who have lawns with definite edges but mine are flat until they meet the slightly raised flower beds.

cuts ok. wheel tends to get in way in tight areas.if area to be strimmed is more than 5 metres from a power supply an extension lead is required.cable length is minimal.

Used for the first time and all seems good cuts well.

Low cost and ready availability of consumables including the cap that holds on the cutting cord is a big win. Too early to say how robust it is in the long term but so far it is holding up well

Really impressed with this strimmer. Plenty of power & easy to use. A little heavier than my previous one but nothing that I can't get used to.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

This has to be the best strimmer that I’ve ever used , to date this is my 3rd , absolutely brilliant at getting all the edges in your garden without stopping every five mins to sort the line out, the auto feed on this is perfect and line lasts for quite a while. Definitely recommend

Bought this as a replacement for an earlier B&D ST5530 which was great but the motor eventually failed! This BESTA-530-GB is very similar but doesn't change speed when edge cutting. The shield is a pig to fit when assembling as the instructions aren't clear how far it engages with the motor housing, but it's VERY tight & easily misaligned to fit the screw. Overall, it's a very practical, strong & well built unit that's superb for both heavy strimming & edging lawns. Just hope this one lasts! 🤞

Strimmed around 4 small garden spool run out wire.

edging the lawn is not good ,messes the lawn edge up alot as you cant see it.
Thhe wheel is big and does work when trimming up against a wall .
cable is far to short

Great grass cutter /had same model for couple of years and had no problems with cutter

Powerful enough to strim rough ground weeds .it seems well built but not too heavy
Still trying adjust height to suit but like this feature
Wasn’t hard to assemble but does require some work

Returned, jammed coiled feeder ,stopped working after 2 minutes of use.

Easy enough to put together and large enough for what I needed. Value for money

This is the second time I have bought this model strimmer. The first one I bought many years ago and it has operated really well for all this time. The only issue I now have is the trigger switch is becomuing tempermental and you have to keep pressing the switch to get it working but this is expected considering the amount of use it has had. This strimmer is very competitively priced and delivery was very quick.

It does work very well. The only problem was that the line ran out very quickly and it’s not possible to manually control the line.

Really effective. My only critique would be that it used the up strummer cord more quickly than I would have imagined. So, I’ve since bought a replacement strimmer cord as a spare
