Badly designed, badly made, horrible to use. This machine has only one speed, is noisy and vibrates so much that it’s impossible to use with any accuracy. The speed is brutal and uncontrollable and the resulting vibration is so violent that even the sandpaper Black &Decker supply in the box can’t stay attached. As one of its selling points is its fine sanding point, it’s an example of mis-selling. The machines utter uselessness is such that I’ve reverted to my Bosch sander which while it isn’t ideally suited to the task of sanding a chair won’t deafen or harm me or damage the chair. For the fine work I bought this machine to help me with, I’m doing it by hand. This things going into recycling. Either spend more money or save it all and don’t buy anything rather than buy this device. I’ll certainly never waste my money on anything from Black & Decker again.
Used for 10 minutes before getting white finger ,round disc lasted seconds before parting company ,total joke piece of crap

I had high hopes for this sander but you can’t adjust the speed and the pointed sanding nose broke after two days . It’s still great value but not as robust as I would have liked
Was all going well until the sanding head fell off. Took it back to shop for a refund
Just the job, compact, powerful enough, gets into those awkward little spaces
The diamond shaped sanding pad base wouldn’t stay on the sander… item returned.
The sanding tip rapidly broke 5 mins after started sanding, no matter how tight the bolt in the bottom was tightened with the washer and rubber washer in place the bolt just worked loose.
This never happened on the older version of this.
Toolstation refunded purchase no problem.
Have always purchased Black and Decker, normally a great reliable brand. Unfortunately this particular sander has a fault. See reviews from many other sellers that are having the same problem. The base plate burns out in minutes. BD should recall this particular model, hopefully this is taken as a positive review and save BD money refunding and customers having to take it back.
