This was bought to replace the earlier model 1100w which had finally expired after years of good service. It is almost identical except a notable improvement is that the flat on the base is on both sides instead of one. A small thing but it makes it much more versatile in tight situations. The extra power is also noticeable. Very happy with the purchase.
Ordered late one day, had an email later to say the order is being processed, had an email early next morning to say it was ready for collection, brilliant service all round, well done to you all.
Fit for purposes, did the job, easy to install and use. As first time using a router I was abit scared, but is nothing to be scared of...does the job quick. Pleased with the purchase.
I feel this is good value for the price. Ideal for the DIYer like me. It does everything I need it to do and I was surprised to find three different sized collets and cutters included. I don't find the handle arrangement as easy as my other router but no doubt with use it will be OK. The only down side was the lack of instructions, diagrammatic but no booklet as it shows on-line. To insert a cutter you need to remove the Perspex splinter guard. It took me a while to realise this pushes off from the base, the screw is simply holding it in place.
I bought this item to replace my original B & D router which I bought in 1988. Having just bought it I cannot quote on whether it has longevity, but if it lasts only half as long as it's predecessor I shall be well pleased. Improvements to the old one included depth stops, dust collection attachment and a chip guard which unfortunately could get in the way of clearly viewing the workpiece but we shall see and if this is a great disadvantage I may revisit this review. Finally I would say that compared to other "branded" machines it may not compare in performance etc. but it is obviously priced as a DIYer's machine not a tradesman's.
Used in my workshop. Very good for the price. Accurate and comes with 3 collets for different size bit shanks. Very pleased.
Good product which performed well. The only issue I had was with the dust extraction plate. The plastic made it quite difficult positioning the router bit when cutting holes. I unscrewed and removed the attachment which resolved this issue.
I am very happy with the router. Easy to use. The only improvement which I can see to be done will be on the base plate, which is plastic, so a metalic one will be great.
Haven’t used it yet but looks like an ideal DIY kit with a selection of router bits and also various attachments, all in a sturdy box.
Solid piece of kit. Very stable and plenty of power. Very good for the price
This is a good value router and ideal for a first router, as for me. What the description doesn’t tell you is what the six included bits are and shapes they’ll produce. If for example, you want to produce square rebates, you won’t find a bit included that can do that and buying a set of bits is worth considering. It would also help if Toolstation made it clear what each of the included bits are and can do.
Ordered Thursday picked Friday no problems. It is exactly what i wanted ideal for the diy enthusiasts.
Good router for occasional use as in home projects.
Value for money.
Great tool for the money works well straight out of the box
Not stocked in any of my local branches but it was delivered to my local branch the following day from order. Because it includes bits it is good value. Seems solid and works well. Would recommend occasionally retighening the bit as one worked loose and spoilt my work.
It's a decent enough machine (especially for the price) but, having used it just the once so far, a couple of disadvantages: it's difficult to install the cutter because the dust guard and the dust extraction tube are very much in the way; and the plunge lock isn't super-positive so it does unplunge itself whilst cutting unless the plunge lock is pushed down with a bit of extra oomph.
comes with router bits buy impossible to find out the sizes - not standard sizes. very unhelpful support from black and decker - useless. actual machine ok
Bought a B & D router and had it delivered rather than a 35 mile drive and all went well. Goods arrived before due date and in perfect condition.
I needed a router to make a neat job of some hinges on my recently built workshop, I didn't want to spend a fortune because although it will come in handy I wont be using it on a daily basis. Following some research I came across this little beauty. It does what is says on the tin, feels like a quality piece of kit and is easy to use. I am usually a fan of the 'Contractors' brands and have mainly Milwaukee kit however in this case I made a great choice, as the Milwaukee unit (although battery powered) was significantly more - The 9 hinges look excellent and are countersunk perfectly in line with the frame surface. It came with some handy various bits and the dust extraction is superb. Overall an excellent purchase.
First router. Very happy with it. Only done test pieces so far but results are good. Should only improve with use. Good to get 6 bits with it to get an idea what you can do. Also the carry case keeps everything together. Would have given 5 stars but the delivery let it down. Ordered for next day collection and took 2 days not toolstations fault. Parcelforce had the parcel but didn't let me know it had been delayed. But for that could have been a 5.
