Quick installation and setup especially for a novice
Troublesome setup process. Connecting to WiFi achieved with difficulty, but the BG app (on the same network) doesn’t link back to the socket. Wasted hours. Sent back for a refund.
Does not connect to WiFi, tried all the trouble shooting steps, disabled my 5ghz network to leave only the 2.4ghz band on and nothing, just silly, very poor app and cheap quality
Bought these to use in outdoor sockets to control garden lighting and they do the job perfectly well, the only reason it’s 4 not 5 stars is because the set up was a little frustrating seeing when socket was in setup mode was difficult as light that flashes to indicate was nearly impossible to see outdoors, only other gripe I needed to buy an extender for outdoors to get connected
Would only work with 2.4 ghz wifi..... all my other smart devices are very happy on 5ghz .
I wasn't prepared to change my whole system so I got a refund

Excellent product that makes life so much easier. Have several of these devices and all work very effectively with the use of an excellent app. Will buy more and highly recommend.
Great product and looks good. Easy to install and connect to Wi-Fi. App is user friendly for adding timers to switch on and off. No more forgetting to turn the Christmas lights on.
Amazing socket. Using it in lounge to turn all table lamps off with voice activation, also can be set up on timers through app. Works very well once you have changed Wi-Fi signal to 2.4gz

Pretty easy to install and comes complete with a 2 gang socket.
I find the plastic housing seems a bit rigid, so maybe prone to cracking or breaking after a bit of use - time will tell.
My only real problem was that I wanted to use this with a smart socket for controlling Xmas lights.
The BG smart socket I bought separately is fractionally bigger than the one supplied, so I needed to use a dremel to cut away a little bit of the housing to fit it in.
Delivery was fast and product works as described. The setup is simple and the mobile app to control it is reliable. Integrated it with Google Home for voice activation.

These are not straightforward to connect. They only work on 2.4ghz WiFi, if your WiFi is dual with the same name then it is very difficult to connect these. Lots of messing with the broadband router and mobile settings to force a connection! Once connected it does work well.
Very rarely connected to network even though it’s less than 6ft from the router. Paired well with Alexa but little point when it’s offline for 90% of the time. Programming the on off settings took 36 hours to figure out then were promptly forgotten when it went offline again. Haven’t figured out how to do it again and I’m pretty tech-savvy. Do the sensible thing and buy a Tapo smart plug for less money.
Good product, paired effortlessly with Alexa. You have to make an account with BG first though which is also simple enough, naming the switches is also easy through the BG app or Alexa.
good for the price and when they work ideal . I have 4 and they are forever going off line (using the BG app) and I have to mess about reconnecting them to my router plus I am yet to get them to work with Google Home the BG support is next to useless , dont even bother emailing them.
