Easy to use and goes a very long way, would definitely recommend 👍
Excellent finish; the rain just beads on the surface
An excellent wood preserver that brushes on well and spreads easily on the surface of the smooth pine wood edging around our patio slabs. Dries leaving a clear matt finish.
This non-water based Wood Preserver was easy to use with a broad brush but not recommended for spraying due to volatile vapours etc. The final colour was neutral and just a fraction darker than the original timber colour. I can't give it 5 stars until I know how effective it is after a few years.
We needed a second tin for my workshop. Find it goes on very well and provides an excellent barrier to water which beads in the surface. Only time will tell how long it protects.
I have used this on timber which has had bad woodworm infestation. It needs shaking before application as it has a high gum content to make it stick to the surface, and the gum seems to sink to the bottom of the can.It penetrates well. If you are using it to second coat pressure treated timber (yes, I know it shouldn't need it but...) it needs a clear twelve hours to dry off before painting.
excellent product ease of use great cover dries quickly does what it says on the tin !!!
Very effective preserver... a tin will go a long way if you aren't too liberal when applying it.
Excellent stuff, and doesn't need a wood protecting coat on top. Easy to spray on, just run a little white spirit through the sprayer afterwards, to stop the washers perishing. Very strong smell, high VOC, wear a mask.
Easy to apply, but only time will tell if it does the job
A good product and very easy to apply. I'm now on my 3rd 5 litre tin after making five tall garden gates. Soaks in well!
Bought the version described as CLEAR for my log cabin as I wanted it to blend in with parts finished with CLEAR varnish. Despite carrying out a test on a small area as advised - the finish was more like GOLDEN with a hint of ORANGE and certainly doesn’t match the CLEAR finish it was supposed to. Referred to Customer Services but they couldn’t assist in any way. Looks like I’m going to have to strip it all off again and find a different product..
A good product. Was easy to apply. It was applied using both a brush and roller and we had no.issues. I would recommend this product.
Great product .. Colour exact, goes on well, great coverage.
Applies well covers very well. Expensive but you get what you pay for.
Very easy to apply. It dries quickly to a nice sheen
I did some extensive research to find what I needed, and Barratine came up regular. I neglected softwood outdoor furniture set (6 seater and table) for 5 years. Left uncovered, after it was washed I sanded it with 60/120 grit.
The furniture lapped up 3 coats of this stuff, and it looks stunning, I have Barratine Furniture Oil as a final 2 coat seal but it already looks great.
Good consistency for brush, you could possibly spray it but not 100%
Very difficult to assess a wood preserver. I should like to tell you in 25 years.
Easy to apply and white spirit based. I was treating a door made in 1932 which had lower damp and distortion.
I started with my usual approach of cleaning and removing damage before replacing the dowels.
Post fixing, I soaked the base area withva 50% dilution before going full strength with this preserver. It took a long time to dry properly in full sunshine. 18 hours.
Filling looks to have worked ok so we shall see...
Great product bought it a few times before. Used it to treat the shed for dry rot, in combination with wood hardener. Have Had No issues with the wood since I have applied this product
Excellent product.Bought for some outside furniture and it restored them beautifully
