These ties are strong, and should stand up to sunlight, high temperature, low temperature, and chemicals. They are thin and compact. However as a result they have fairly sharp edges; also, they require care in removal. I am so pleased to have discovered these!
Bought these to hang some heavy sign boards in a commercial setting, they are more than strong enough to hold the weight and look better than the plastic cable ties
Bought these to replace plastic cable ties that were being chewed by our dogs. These were just the trick. A little more fiddly that the plastic ones but still easy to use.
A little fiddly sometimes to engage the ball lock but work great once located.

Excellent value, good quality steel zip ties, they are really secure, best results when using the zip tie gun for tight fit and clean cut.
Got these as the plastic ones seem to get brittle, and snap within a couple of years.
Some considerations -
The locking end will slide over the strap very easily, and is not that easy to release -
so don't try joining 2 together for a double length tie - unless you have put a bit of sticky tape on the strap so it will not just slide through the head of the other one.
Also - wear protective gloves as the edges are square cut, so have sharp cutting edges -
and use a pair of pliers to pull them tight -
have a pair if snips handy too ( and maybe a helper) for releasing them if they slide closed on your fingers.
hopefully that will help avoid getting blood on things.
So - seem great for long term outside use
but can be dangerous - especially if they will be accessible to children or pets.
Bought these to re fix some bird netting thinking that plastic ones would perish sooner. Wasn’t sure how to actually secure them but think just folding over at the end is sufficient. May need some wire cutters if a neat finish required. Seem strong and hopefully will last

steel cable ties, got these to put on to fence posts, not easy to tighten
These cable ties are great where you require a much stringer fixing than standard cable ties. They work well for securing electrical cables to meet H & S standards.
We needed these for a different application, to hold metal mesh panels on a fire escape walkway. In this sitution I was not happy with using just standard plastic cable ties and wanted something to back these up in an emergency situation.
We used these without the tensioning tool which we thought was a bit too expensive for a one-off job.
You can get them to a good tension using pliers but it's a bit harder to remove the excess to make the ends safe. You can cut them by using a set of sidecutters to make a point to fracture them off by bending many times back and forth.
The job would have been a lot faster had we purchased the tensioning/cutting tool. If you are using these on a bigger job buy the tool it will pay for itself in time saving.
