I will need programming before using to optimise the dimmer, i used it for 6 downlihts in a kitchen. Without going the the steps, 2 of the lights went out completely when the other 4 were dimming. All the led lamps were new.
EASY TO FIT, SMALLER DIMENSION THAN THE ONE BEING REPLACED, ALTHOUGH THE SCREW HOLES ALIGNED, MEANING SOME DECORATIVE TOUCH UP REQUIRED
It does the job but it hums quite loudly. operates fine though...
The switch lastest just over a year and had to be replaced, very poor quality item.
Straight forward to fit. Not quite like a 3 gang device which I bought a few years ago which had a nice ramp up of the light output.
Works well, looks smart, clear instructions good price
Lovely slim dimmer switch. Good replacement. Needed new back box for it, as it didnt fitold one.
Great value. Great service. Just what I needed and easy to obtain
Useful dimmer which actually works well with some dimmable led bulbs without flickering or buzzing ,would I buy this again, yea
I have turned on many things in my life but this switch was amazing. The button is very easy to find.
Good value for money.
In the process changing all the down light to led one. The old dimmer switch isnt compatible with the new led down light. Hence changint the dimmer switch.
It does the job.
Works as you would expect with leds but doesn't seem to have a push on/off setting so you rely on it being on minimum
Good product. does the job and works well with my LED lights
EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY, EXCELLENT QUALITY GOOD SERVICE
Great value for money, and works as you’d want - finish quality is good too. Worth knowing that the silver nut that holds the dimmer block to the faceplate can be seen when on the wall.
The instructions included with this dimmer appear to relate to a generic dimmer module which one can only presume is the module fitted to the faceplate of this item.
The first point I noticed is a discrepancy in respect of the maximum incandescent load (should one require this option) between Toolstation's description and the figure appearing on the Instruction leaflet. The catalogue and online quote a figure of 10-400W whereas the instruction leaflet states just 5-150W.
The Instruction Leaflet suffers from very poor grammar, for which in this day and age, there is no excuse!
The faceplate of the dimmer is rather thin and flimsy which could prove to be a problem if the surface of the wall is not entirely flat. There is a reference in the Instructions about avoiding such distortion.
Also, the counter-bored and countersunk holes in the faceplate are a shade undersized for standard M3.5 raised countersunk-headed screws. I had cause to change the supplied screws for a longer version (also from Toolstation!) only to discover that the screw heads were a tight fit in the counter-bored holes!
There is a setting-up procedure to be followed once one has waded through the muddy instructions! Although not tested by me, this procedure may need to be repeated following a power outage. In terms of performance, the dimmer seems to do what is required of it. As for reliability, it is too early to comment.
Against other trailing-edge dimmers on the market, I suppose this item compares favourably in terms of cost but the flimsiness of the product may justify consideration of an alternative item.
Didn't work properly with high quality Philips LED bulb. It does dim, but the dim curve is jagged, and does allow full output. Contacts in the back are cheap and flimsy. I would not recommend to others. Looks OK.
