I found there isn't enough width between the two sections to comfortably fit a new Hager 2 gang and and an old MK fused outlet, so it's advisable to try your fittings for size as they seem to vary between makes.
No good for screwless sockets etc with clip on facias.
Did the job once I made modifications. I wanted to have a double plug and Ariel socket. However with the plug in place it meant the Ariel was too far outwards for the fixing holes. I trimmed about 5mm off one edge and then it was okay. Would try a different one next time.
Needed it in a hurry. Toolstation has one in stock and the other company I’m not supposed to mention didn’t.
Good for those wanting a 2G + 1G combi drylining box, knockouts come out easy and it's well made - not much more to say really other than I've used a few of these over the years without complaint
The Axiom Dry Lining Box 2 Gang + 1 Gang is a popular electrical accessory designed to be used in drywall or plasterboard walls. It is a combination of a 2-gang and a 1-gang back box that can be installed side by side in a single cavity wall, providing a neat and tidy solution for concealing electrical wiring and switches.
One of the notable features of this product is its depth adjustment mechanism, which allows for easy adjustment of the box depth to accommodate different wall thicknesses. It also comes with a removable faceplate that can be painted or decorated to match the surrounding wall, providing a seamless finish.
Overall, the Axiom Dry Lining Box 2 Gang + 1 Gang is a well-designed and functional product that can simplify the installation of electrical wiring in drywall or plasterboard walls.
Easy fit, adjustable clips makes it very easy on thick surfaces
Seems to be a couple of millimetres too little, sockets were a very tight fit causing the the threaded part to snap. Changed to a more expensive one which was a perfect fit.
I purchased the 2 Gang + 1 Gang Axiom dry lining boxes to go with the Axiom sockets that I had, assuming that they would fit. Unfortunately when installed I found they weren't wide enough to accommodate the 2 sockets.
After a little investigation, I found out that the Appleby dry lining boxes were slightly wider and a perfect fit for the sockets I was fitting. So if in any doubt, buy the Appleby branded boxes
Good idea, save’s having to make two separate cutouts
Not fit for purpose, the shoulder between the two sections is too narrow, I tried to fit a double socket with a single gang blanking plate, same make as backbox, but their chamfered edges prevent them from lining up with screw holes. Went in the bin.
Excellent value for money
Works well as a replacement when needed.
AWESOME just what i needed
The plastic on this box is of a high quality. Strong and sturdy
Bought this box to accommodate cable connections for outside light, porch light, switches etc under a double blanking plate. Light switch located directly beside that. This fit the bill perfectly. Looks good now the porch is decorated and was exactly what I needed.
Easy to extend cutout in plasterboard to fit radiator heater switch
Had problems with side lugs then found that other makes of sockets don’t fit properly. Threw them both away
good price and good quality
