I assume it works because it has a very powerful magnet inside. The one I replaced did not have much dirt attached.
My only issue is the thread is plastic and the nut on the pipe its being attached to is metal so if you're not careful you can ruin the thread. That's what happened to the one I was replacing.
Excellent product, my existing one broke and I needed a replacement immediately. Within an hour of purchasing the replacement was in position

I have had a magna clean on my heating system for about 10 years, this purchase was to fit on my son's system. In my view this is an essential add on for any heating system. The pack contains everything you need and I was pleased that the price was heavily discounted.

threads, and wish it came without the fluids as an option.

Excellent product, Easy to instal. Down side comment is the connecting threads to join to the copper unions look a little weak and will easily strip if care is not taken to instal and when removing magnet for cleaning.
In my opinion the body of the unit should be individually bracketed and then you will not strain the 'plastic' threads.

This pack is an excellent choice. But you will need to do some pipework soldering with this filter.
It's as it was introduced and more affordable than other similar products.
It's cleaning is easy and it comes complete with all necessary spanners and materials.
Ordered at tool station and said it was open till 8pm. Arrived before 5pm and it was closed. Let me down when I needed this desperately as a direct replacement. Had to drive 25 miles to another store. When I called in next day to get a refund they said they had no staff.
Fantastic product. Easy to fit with basic plumbing tools. Ran system for half an hour with filter fitted and was blown away by the amount of sludge it caught in that time highly recomended
Yes this is good stuff it cleared out a lot of sludgy oxide from my system
