It cuts well, no significant sign of wear as yet. Be wary of cutting in to bricks, you'll not notice as it cuts so well. I started with perpendicular joints first to give me some resistance when cutting down. Even on a cheap Draper grinder it's fantastic.

Used to clear old mortar prior to repointing. Absolutely smashed through the old mortar with no problems at all. Considered the drill type tools for precision but this was far too easy.

Ground out the old mortar like a blowtorch through butter - and some brick too ! So be careful, especially on the verticals.
Superb. Sliced through mortar that was way too strong, to enable a softer mix to be applied. It was like concrete, but this disc went through it like a hot knife through butter

I’m a DIYer removing some old fairly hard cement pointing with a standard masonry disc. Found it quite hard going, finding it difficult to stay on the line . Watched a few pros on YouTube and followed ones advice with a proper 7mm thick mortar taking disc. Game changer! Kept in line easily, maintained good cut depth control and probably most importantly, it felt safer. Not snagging and jarring which happened with the thin blade !
An upgrade from thin diamond disc, if that's what you're using while taking a mortar out from the joints. Fast and easy work, just make sure you wear PPE

I’ve used these in the past and they are great for ripping out mortar and cutting brick. They last for a long time compared to others. I would recommend using them for replacing mortar in paving. A good buy.
