Network Security Engineer

The Role

Protect our platform and user data by designing and implementing robust security infrastructure. You'll lead vulnerability assessments, incident response, and ensure compliance with UK data protection regulations across our high-traffic comparison platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement network security architecture for cloud and on-premise infrastructure
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Lead incident response procedures and post-mortem analysis
• Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs, and VPN configurations
• Ensure GDPR compliance and maintain security documentation
• Monitor and analyse security logs and threat intelligence feeds
• Mentor junior team members on security best practices
• Collaborate with engineering teams on secure development lifecycle

Essential Requirements

• 5+ years in network security, penetration testing, or SOC operations
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and WAFs
• Experience with GDPR compliance and security auditing
• Familiarity with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and container security
• Excellent analytical and communication skills

Nice to Have

• CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification
• Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, ELK Stack)
• Knowledge of web application security (OWASP Top 10)
• Background in e-commerce or high-traffic platform security
